How to Edit Registry Remotely in Windows 10?

Registry is a hierarchical database in a Windows operating system that saves the low level settings of various installed software and the computer OS configuration (Windows 10).

Locally accessing the Registry is done through the built-in utility inside Windows 10, called the Registry Edit. Registry edit is found under System32 folder usually in drive C: Windows folder as Regedit.exe.

By searching Regedit.exe via search box in the start Menu, or by Win + R button, you may run it either way.

To access a network domain connected server or computer's Registry, you need to secure an administrator account. In order to remotely edit the registry once you run the Registry edit utility under the Administrator account, do the following:

1. Select Connect Network Registry
2. Specify which domain network connected computer needs to be accessed.
3. If the network services are up and running, you should be able to access registry remotely as long as you have Administrator credentials.
4. Edit the registry.
5. Close Regedit.exe

Some registry settings might take effect immediately. Some registry settings might need a logoff of the user account involved in the edited registry.

To logoff completely, login to the computer on the account you wish to logoff. Then run logoff.exe by pressing Win + R button theb type logoff.exe then hit enter. You may also shutdown the machine remotely.

Hope this guide provides you with the needed steps on how to remotely edit the registry from a Windows 10 computer.
